How exciting it is for us to learn new and innovative techniques! Last week the staff at Biquor and Biquor got just that chance! Redd a top editorial stylist who works for Kerastase was in the salon teaching us some new tricks. What’s an editorial stylist you ask? Editorial stylists are the stylists who create hairstyles for photos in magazines and other types of media, they’re the inventors of the newest styles that are marketed to the public. Redd also works as a top designer for Kerastase during fashion week in NYC! Born in Israel yet trained in New York City Redd is no stranger to fashion, she has cultivated a worldly flavor which combines the elegance of tradition with excitement of eclectic unique. Redd has recently re-located to the West Coast and now lives in San Francisco. Absolutely we’re happy to have her close by and especially excited she is available to share her knowledge with the staff at Biquor & Biquor!
Redd spent the evening with us on Tuesday first showing us an incredible set that Kerastase often uses to prep their runway models. 
Then she combed out the set which made for some amazing curls on our beautiful model Carol Welker. 
Would you believe that one of the hardest and most important tools used of dressing hair for designer looks is the simple ponytail? Sounds easy doesn’t it. Well not so easy… A good ponytail placed perfectly on the clients head takes lots of consideration. Does the placement fit with the shape of the clients head? Where is the ponytail best placed for the look desired? Does the client want it high on the head, low to the nape, on the side? Lots to consider. Most importantly the execution of a perfect ponytail takes the skill and technique of more than just pulling the hair into a rubber band.

And so with Redds help we created our ponytails on our own models. We had lots of ideas and challenges with how the hair would look the best. Most importantly we learned all the techniques on how to direct the hair to the exact placement of our finished look, how to smooth the hair perfectly into place and wrap the band tightly around the hair so that the design stays secure for hours to come.
